Good question. Regular Forum users, probably not as they are posted here. Others, who knows. Authors bio? Probably not necessary if name and publication are stated.Jerry3904 wrote:I never do that for any author--does anybody even look at the Reviews page?!Jerry can add that biographical information to the reviews page without the link.

Re: Magazine high praise!
Linux Format eventually releases older PDF versions of the magazine for free downloads, but that will be a long wait. linuxformat.com hasn't even been updated to show the June issue.
Does anyone know exactly how much we could quote as "fair use"?
Edit: I found an apparently legit online sampler of the June issue, but it doesn't have the pages with the review. We didn't make the cover or the DVD, either...that's just more incentive! https://issuu.com/futurepublishing/docs/lxf237.issuu

Re: Magazine high praise!
Don't need quantity for those review notices that APPARENTLY nobody ever looks at. Just a minimal notice with 1-2 quotes (quoting published material with a citation is legal).

Re: Magazine high praise!
Check your webserver logs. Aren't the review pages frequent landing pages?
Eyeballs should be hitting those review pages. The wiki pages are keyword dense and have very high SEO value.
Didn't use quotation marks around my sample queries, so might spot-check by retrying with multiple keywords and/or shorter phrases, e.g.:
snapshots distro responsive well put together

Thanks. I actually just qvetching, since people were proposing all sorts of things I supposedly would need for those reviews.

I'm a subscriber, so get my copy some time before it's on general sale. I don't know of it's on sale elsewhere in the world.Stevo wrote:Linux Format eventually releases older PDF versions of the magazine for free downloads, but that will be a long wait. linuxformat.com hasn't even been updated to show the June issue.

Re: Magazine high praise!
In all my years of subscribing, I too, do not recall having seen a 10/10 distro review in Linux Format.
Summary reads: "This speedy, fully featured distribution, complete with solid support on and offline, is a masterclass in user-friendliness."
The current issue, 237, is only visible on the web to subscribers.
But as soon as the next issue comes out, excerpts from the current issue, 237, will be publicly available online as pdfs. This usually includes pieces of top reviews. You will find them in the issue archives here.

Re: Magazine high praise!
Nice! You guys should be proud MX is getting the recognition it deserves.
Re: Magazine high praise!
I put up the review, mostly just stealing Chris's language (need more of this..).
