Handbrake 1.1.0 is done for MX 17 after some build failures (learning experiences! ;) ). It might be possible to build it for MX 15/16, but I'll wait for a request for that, since that looks like even more work. I'll do Ancestris 9 and 10~beta now.

I don't know if Handbrake is leveraging my Intel Skylake GPU for transcoding though, through the new libmfx package. The CPU bars and temperature all go to the max when transcoding to x265, though another CPU readout stays down at a few percent at the same time, and I don't see any real speedup over Selene. I'll bite the bullet and reboot into Windows to see what happens there.

I think ffmpeg supports libmfx-dev, too, so maybe I'll rebuild it against that to see what happens.

Woah, it does need a lot of fixing up.

One thing is that the debs from Ancestris are 50 MB each for i386 and amd64, but each are almost all arch-independent files and just has one little .so binary of about 90 K, along with unused Windows dll and exe files. Debian policy and elegance demand that I split the package into an ancestris package for the binary and ancestris-common for all the arch-independent files.

This is aside from other stuff like unused build-depends and a deprecated debhelper version.

OK, I figured out how to do the split with the different .install files and just deleting the folder with the binaries from the -common package with an override for dh_install. ;)

xfce4-power-manager 1.6.1, MX 17 only, switches to GTK 3. Despite what the build-depends say, it actually needs a newer GTK 3 than MX 15's 3.14.
