Re: test of new site
Hmm, I deleted the bookmark and all history of mepiscommunity.org already (had to so that I can type "for" in the address bar and forum.mxlinux.org comes up) and still the problem. Maybe I need to delete the old saved login...
Nope that did not help... maybe a cookie....
No luck with that either...
Ah I see, https:// is not forced as it is for the home page mxlinux.org
It will remember for https:// but not in http://
Typing "for" in the url bar as per my usual meathod defaults to http:// (even though I have https:// bookmarked)
I guess this is bad in this particular situation (and in the idea to move to https://) but this also means that people with the certificate error under https:// can use http:// rather than importing certs is suppose.
EDIT: Sorry Jerry somehow missed your mentioning of this!

In Slimjet, I have to login again every time I start up,
even though I check "Remember Me".
Seems the forum has faulty memory.
I'll try it again in Firefox-ESR just to see if it is only Slimjet (Chromium base).

I use slimjet. If not logged out and I close the browser, I remain logged in. There is a 60 minute session expire limit, so after an hour you will be logged out.

Re: test of new site
"Remember me" button doesn't seem function correctly. Will try again in a minute.
When I tried to login for the first time with Firefox-ESR I got this charming message: Got the same message after changed the link to "https",
then noticed that it was still pointing to mepiscommunity.
Changed to mxlinux.org and logged in for the first time.
Now to see if it will actually Remember Me. :)

Re: test of new site
And Firefox works as expected; however,
if I wait for over an hour I suppose it will log me out.
Time will tell.
Note: 21-Oct, 0900: Firefox didn't, but Slimjet did.

Re: test of new site
As noted earlier here, I have since had no problems in Firefox (49.0.1) with the new redirected URL after logging in once and checking remember me. The bookmark hasn't been updated yet.
Chromium was the same thing, having just tested it here. I'll check tomorrow to see if it definitely remembers....(Edit- all still good today)

Re: test of new site
No problemo remembering me in AntiX firefox ESR on mulitple computer installs.
I changed all my boomarks to the new server address though.
Even Seamonkey 24 remembers login for me.
