I think you left out the "/" between "mtp:" and "Nexus 10/", i.e., it should be "mtp:/Nexus 10/". Are you sure you entered the right path?
That was a typo on my part in answering you. I have tried all kinds of combinations on the Dolphin address bar.
When I tried to use Konquerer it had a problem with the space between Nexus and 10. I am wondering if Dolphin also has that problem???

PS - I just tried my old Kindle reader and MX-KDe opened it up just fine.
The last sentence (highlighted above) really has me confused. The Kindle works with KDE, which means the kio-mtp application, Dolphin, and Device Notifier are all working in harmony like they should. The Nexus doesn't work with MX-14/KDE, which indicates that the mtp libraries may not be up to date, however, the Nexus works on MX-14/xfce, which uses the exact same libraries. None of this makes any sense to me.

HELP!!!

The space between the Nexus and the 10 should not be a problem, because I can navigate to /Kindle/Internal storage/ which also has a space in the middle. You could try entering the whole path in quotes and see if that helps.

joany, you have spent way too much time on this and I thank you. It is not a big deal to me, so lets cut our losses and work on something more productive. Usually when I go around in circles like this it is usually something so very simple that you wonder where your mind is. Of course I don't have much left to wonder about any more....

Looking around the forums this has been an issue with Windows as well.
In the nexus, make sure mtp is on and usb debugging is turned off. The latter is hidden in About Tablet & then you tap rapidly on the build number.

Also it has been reported that having the Andriod SDK installed on your computer can interfere with mtp.

mtp is checked and debugging was turned off and I don't have the Android SDK loaded and it still won't work. I'll just use my "Emergency OS" MX-14-xfce when I want to get into my tablet.

I see that the sid/Jessie kio-mtp, https://packages.debian.org/jessie/kio-mtp, is from a more recent git version (git20140304) than Stevo's (git20130806).

Would that make a difference?

Here's the changelog: (http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/c ... _changelog)

Code: Select all

kio-mtp (0.75+git20140304-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release, including l10n.
    - Fixes folder creation.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.5, no changes needed.

kio-mtp (0.75+git20130806-2) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Felix Geyer ]
  * Tighten dependency of kio-mtp-dbg on kio-mtp, thanks to Ansgar Burchardt.

  [ Pino Toscano ]
  * Add the pkg-config build dependency.
  * Install everything directly in the destdir of kio-mtp; this avoids
    maintaining a kio-mtp.install.
  * Add Vcs-* headers.

kio-mtp (0.75+git20130806-1) unstable; urgency=low
