kde-config-touchpad

#1 Post by DBeckett »

This is a fresh install of MX-14.3 with KDE on my ThinkPad. I've never had any trouble with the touchpad with other distros.

The touchpad works but is a little twitchy, so I loaded kde-config-touchpad so I could make some adjustments. This removed

xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-dbg

The touchpad promptly quit working. The icon appears in SystemSettings --> Input Devices, but it says there is no touchpad attached.

I put things back like they were and the touchpad resumed working. An external USB mouse always works.

Anyone know what's up with this?

Strange, installing kde-config-touchpad on my MX-14.3 kde doesn't remove anything.
Are you using the 0.8.1-2mcr120120+1 (mepis) version of kde-config-touchpad? The stable version 0.8.1-1 had some problems.

I think that's why the wheezy version was rebuilt for the CR--to get rid of that conflict.

Aha! That was it. I never looked beyond the first one I saw. 0.8.1-2mcr120120+1 fixed it right up.

Thanks guys.

When I try install kde-config-touchpad, it's like I do install whole kde plasma to my mx linux xfce. Is it like that or I'm doing a mistake ? But in other hand, the when I install Touchpad Indikator, it's work for me
