MX 14 Repository--the Thunar Thread

#1 Postby Stevo » Sat Feb 14, 2015 3:46 pm

We now have the latest 1.6.4 release in the MX test repo. One of the big changes is that file sizes are now calculated like most everything else does it, using the binary method--i.e., one megabyte=1024 kilobytes, rather than the decimal method (only used by hard drive mfrs, it seems) 1 megabyte= 1000 kilobytes. The decimal method can still be used if desired, via a setting in the display preferences.

It seems to be independent of 4.12, since I was able to build it against the 4.10 base libraries...

Right, but I think it is the version that will ship with 4.12 in 2 weeks (!).

We can probably build 4.12 on the MX 14 base, at least for testing. It doesn't take that much time.

via a setting in the display preferences

Where exactly is this? Or do you have to logout/in for it to show?
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

I needed to logout/login before Thunar in it's 'Help -> About Thunar' was showing it to be the 1.6.4 version instead of 1.6.3.

Then the new setting is at: Edit -> Preferences -> Display (tab)
