Transparent image on taskbar for package installer

#1

Post by arch » Sun Aug 04, 2019 3:44 am

Some days, not all, the background of the package installer icon on the taskbar is transparent, making it look a bit weird.
I have no idea what is causing this, since it is seems random to me, but I thought I'd mention it.

Here is an image of it in a broken state, when there is no new updates.

Image

When there are updates and it is broken, the package box gets green with transparent.
When it is not broken the color of the taskbar fills in behind correctly in both states.
Why it says "uld" behind it I don't know either.

It took me a while to bother dragging myself to report this, as it is purely cosmetic.

Do you change your icon or gtk themes often? Sometimes after a theme change, the panel needs to be reset for the changes to fully take.

in terminal or whisker menu menu search field, type

Code: Select all

xfce4-panel -r
and press ENTER

Does it improve?
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

No I seldom mess with the themes, I'm more a set and forget kind of guy.
So I don't know what is causing the switch.

However your advice did change things for the better, although not quite back to normal.

The black vertical line on the right side is new.
I guess there is some integration issues there or something with the gtk-stuff.
Still nice to know that there is a command trick that will fix it,
it looks way better now, thanks man! :)

I don't know if this helps you figure out what is wrong though.

Yeah right, updater, my bad.

Interesting that I can change the look, maybe that can fix it next time it happens.
Worth a shot.
Anyway, I did a computer restart earlier and now it is back to normal.
