Keepassxc was updated to 2.4.2 on developer side

#1 Post by galaxysurfer »

Having said that I dont know if my issue was fixed with the latest version. When I attempt to go to url linked in password entry with by palemoon browser it throws out error. Keypassxc is trying to send me to http://www.%u.com/ which gives an error unable to connect to server. Palemoon also opens a second tab with the correct url successfully connecting with a https:// address. Is this a issue from keypassxc standpoint, palemoon or my preferred browser config in Mx Linux. I would like to successfully troubleshoot this issue. Please advise. I apologize if I have put this in the wrong place along with the request for package updating.

I sent it up for the test repo, but it doesn't seem to have been updated fully--just the MX 15/16 version got in. You can get the MX 17 versions here directly in the meantime: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OBOuU ... uDHFLYVi9p

Open Settings -> Preferred Applications and change the custom string (under other)
from

Code: Select all

palemoon "%u"
to

Code: Select all

palemoon "%s"

I noticed that the url call in keepassxc run in Win 10 to Palemoon Browser doesn't suffer the same fate. It just opens the https: version of url call. So I am guessing it defaults to https? But in linux version it is offering both.

KeePassXC opens URL with the default browser, with the URL-string which you have entered into URL field.
e.g. If you have entered as URL "forum.mxlinux.org" it passes that URL string to the default browser as "forum.mxlinux.org". The browser will than decide to open with http or https, as you can set up the browser, to complete the protocol as http or https.
If you enter into the field a http-url, the browser will try the open the http-url, e.g. http://forum.mxlinux.org.

In my keepassxc files the url is saved as the correct https version, meaning i have the url entry there as https://siteaddress.xxx not http://siteaddress.xxx. That is why i am confused that when I click to open it via url link, it is giving me both versions in my palemoon linux browser instance. That isn't happening in the win 10 palemoon browser, only the linux palemoon. I just want to clarify where the issue is originating & weed out any bugs. It doesn't seem to be differentiating between the two address links for search purposes & throws out both options.
