Theme customisability

#1 Post by imran17 »

In ubuntu 11.04 there was a feature of selecting custom color in theme/appearance. It helped a lot to create my own theme. Is there any way to do this in current version of MX Linux?
If not possible, then i request the developers to add such option in upcoming version.
Thank you.

You may take the code from any theme and edit the source to your heart's content.

It's in the flatpacks in the MX Package Installer.

I installed the flatpak version in my mx15 /16 partitions.

For mx17/18, you can use flatpak, or why not make a package request, if you don't want to install the deb file or build it yourself using these instructions:
https://github.com/themix-project/oomox ... stallation

PS.
I haven't bothered to install it in mx17 only because I have it installed on my manjaro installs and the oomox themes made there worked with mx17.

For mx15/16 with the old gtk 3.14, the newer gtk3 themes won't work with it so I have to install its own version of oomox to generate themes. But for gtk 3.14, only numix themes can be generated as only those will work. No problem, I get the colour combinations i want.
