No Sound on Asus Zenbook UX433FN
No Sound on Asus Zenbook UX433FN
Installed MX18 on Asus Zenbook UX433FN but sound does not work. Does anyone know if this patch be applied to the current MX18 kernel?

I have the same driver, just my Alsa is older and I also don't have sound, but it is probably not related since I have custom bios and that's probably source of my problem. But I will keep an eye on this topic to see if anything would help me also.

Just to make sure that the simple stuff was done.. have you looked in MX Tools - Select Sound, and selected your sound card?
And then made sure with the volume icon that it is maximized? If it is, click on it, slide down slide up, because sometimes it's muted and doesn't really show there.

Yes, I've tried all that, thanks.
Re: No Sound on Asus Zenbook UX433FN
Deep in this thread, it looks like patches for this problem showed up last month in the kernel Linux 4.20-rc6. That kernel can be obtained here: https://www.kernel.org/, and Ubuntu has it available in a ppa as a deb:
http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-kernel ... on-ubuntu/
That page gives directions on how to get it, but you should probably make a request for help from the packagers in the Community Repository forum.
BTW: I have this problem on my personal laptop (> sig), but the trick of booting into Linux, shutting it down, waiting 30 seconds, and then booting into it again (MX-18) works for me.

There is an antiX 4.20 kernel (later than the rc6 version) if user wants to give it a try.

Thanks all for the help.
I just tried installing that using MX Package installer and got these error messages:anticapitalista wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 8:38 amThere is an antiX 4.20 kernel (later than the rc6 version) if user wants to give it a try.

Re: No Sound on Asus Zenbook UX433FN
I just rebooted into the antix 4.20 kernel and it works fine, so the error messages appear not to have affected the install. I do have sound!
I see one error refers to VB, not sure of the significance of the others.
Thanks Anti.

If you want to use virtualbox, then you will need either 5.2.24 version or virtualbox6.
