It's a deb that you need to install in MX (VirtualBox has nothing to do with it, you can install on MX running in VirtualBox or running on metal), actually I asked Tim to update the installer so if it's not yet in the pool it should be soon then you won't need to download and install the deb you could run just a regular update before trying the installer -- but depending on what mirror you are connected to it might not come right now, so in a way is clearer if you download and install the deb and try again.
Ah okay, I'll just wait for updated ISO then. I'll have to wait to download it later at night anyway when I go to bed and don't need the internet. I'm on crappy 3mbps DSL connection and sometimes even late at night the downloads fail around 300MB mark. But I think that's the mirror though, cause I did manage to download a number of different distro ISOs without issues before.

I will probably updated the ISO only on Feb 15, you can update the deb right now with a minimum download. It would help us if you'd test it...

to the OP...the antiX live system that antiX users isn't like other linux live systems. You can boot up a fresh iso, and run updates before you install.

if you don't want to do updates, then you can just update the installer while running live before install.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install mx-installer

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Yes, see if mx-installer gets updated, if not, you could download it manually from the link I posted before.

Alright I'll try that then in few hours, I have some other stuff going on at moment. I'll report back then after trying that. I'm hoping to get that root password error logged then, sucks I'm not getting it lately lol

Will that command work if mx-installer is already installed? I think a simple "sudo apt upgrade" would be enough to get it after the update.

That command I provided will upgrade if the mx-installer update is in the repo.

The "apt upgrade" will do a system wide upgrade.
