Log out on various suspend /resume

Hello,
When I suspend / resume in general more than once, it logs me out. Someone mentions it also on distrowatch. It happened in MX 17 and now also on 18.

are you logged out or just getting the lock screen? by default the session is locked on suspend.

System Settings> Power Manager. Click the Security Tab and uncheck "Lock Screen when going to sleep"

Regarding preserving your desktop. I believe that is normal behavior for suspend. Hibernate saves open programs as is, not suspend.

"Suspend does not turn off your computer. It puts the computer and all peripherals on a low power consumption mode. If the battery runs out or the computer turns off for some reason, the current session and unsaved changes will be lost.

Hibernate saves the state of your computer to the hard disk and completely powers off. When resuming, the saved state is restored to RAM."

The problem here is that the system has two different behaviors for the same action.

ON my desktop suspend has always closed open applications in my case and continues to do so. On my laptop open programs are preserved. Hibernate has always brought back what was open as is.

I do not see a distinction in Power Manager on my desktop. There are no separate Desktop/Laptop settings. On the Laptop there is an additional laptop lid item.
