[Solved] Mouse theme not changing in desktop on system boot

#1 Post by pemartins »

On boot the mouse theme remains the distro default DMZ (Black), even if changed in a previous session to DMZ (White). On this printscreen you can see the mouse pointer is DMZ (Black) and not matching the chosen DMZ (White):

Also in applications like xfce4-panel, xfce-terminal and xfce4-taskmanager the mouse pointer remains in the DMZ (Black) theme.

Nevertheless in Firefox the mouse pointer theme changes to the defined DMZ (White).

It is necessary to go to Settings > Mouse and Touchpad > Theme, change to another theme and then back to the desired DMZ (White) so it becomes active everywhere.

Would removing saved sessions within Settings -> Session and Startup -> Session -> Clear saved sessions,
make any difference?

If it still won't stick:

Open terminal, su to root, and enter

Code: Select all

update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme
and enter the number of the theme you want, then logout and login to activate

Thank you both very much for the help.

Yep clearing the saved sessions seems to have solved it, I rebooted two times after and the correct mouse theme DMZ (White) was now automatically loaded for my session in each time.

Thank you all!
