I'm getting a repeating error message [ntpd] error configuring pool 0.debian.pool.ntp.org, along with other similar messages. Every 5 seconds.
When I installed MX 17.1 I thought I turned that service off. I manually killed ntpd and the messages stopped. Not sure what's going on, but this would appear to be a configuration issue.

Re: ntpd filling syslog
I'm not interested in ntpd running at all.
During the custom MX installation, I thought it saw the option to turn off ntpd, and I thought I selected that option. Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, that would make it an MX configuration issue. I think I've managed to prevent restart during boot. So, problem temporarily solved.
Is there an utility to control services recommended by MX? Don't want to break my new system.
Re: ntpd filling syslog
u have disabled ntp, did u set hw clock to utc or local time? if not, set it to local time.
