Code::Blocks that we get from the debian repos (I'm assuming) is one major revision behind. It's randomly crashing while editing. Not sure who's problem it is; it just is.
I'm going to build my own, which I should have been doing anyway. However, if any of you have pull with package maintainers, this one would be a good one to ask for an update.

Re: Code::blocks 16 suffering random crashes
Just ask for a backport in the package request subforum, and we'll see what we can do. You don't need any special pull (though b̶r̶i̶b̶e̶s̶ donations are cheerfully accepted ).
Hmm--upstream Debian is also still on version 16. Let's see if there is any other Debian based distro or PPA with newer versions.

Re: Code::blocks 16 suffering random crashes
Here's a semi-official apt repository for Stretch that one can use, but I'm also going to try and rebuild their sources for our test repository.

Re: Code::blocks 16 suffering random crashes
Code:Blocks 17.12 packages are built and should be in our test repos for MX 15/16 and 17 quite soon.
