Connect to a different WiFi
On holiday in Florida and can't get my laptop to connect to motel WiFi. All that shows on network connection is my home WiFi ID. I know the correct name and password for the WiFi here, had no problems connecting my phone but laptop is not seeing it, adapter is on.

within either the n/g 2,4GHz channel or the new AC 5 Ghz channel.
Perhaps the motel wifi access point does provide only AC-5ghz and your wifi laptop does only watch out for n/g-2,4ghz?
Or the other way around?
You can install linssid from the MX Package installer.
You might need to call it from the command line as such:
Code: Select all
gksudo -k linssid
