Oops, a lot of posts, so I can understand things getting a bit mixed up. I'm using the Final release, not the April snapshot, which I just read a moment ago has a little glitch to do with grub?fehlix wrote:Fine! You need run the iso check alsoteddylegs wrote:fehlix wrote:I'm on Mint Mate 18.3 at this point.
navigate into your folder with the latest MX iso and run and compare the isoIf you are on Mint's MATE you can run Mint's USB-image writer to make the dd-imaged USB stick!Code: Select all
md5sum MX-17.1_April_x64.iso c2ef3d943898b4ebbd28f40a2eae14ee MX-17.1_April_x64.iso
Md5sum checks out, and, yes, using the USB image writer to make the stick. Have done it on 2 different USB's and downloads, but the main USB referenced here and that I've just run tests on is the HyperX Savage 64 GB USB 3.1/3.0 Flash Drive.
Grrrr, lol, this 'thing' is winning at the moment ... I can't imagine what it can be now; my last Mint Mate install was done cleanly and via UEFI. I don't choose the 'clean entire drive' option on install, as it seems it would take a very long time, especially on a 1tb drive, but may need to consider doing that.
Maybe inxi -Fxz will give some clues.
