Upgraded mx-packageinstaller-pkglist (18.03.06) to 18.03.07 just now and after the install ended succesfully I got this pop up message:

Code: Select all

W: Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/root/.synaptic/tmp//tmp_sh' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)

Package is installed, just reloaded and nothing out of the ordinary appears, but I wanted to let you guys know about this.

I just ran the update/upgrade with MX Updater and saw no message like that. Ran as normal.

I get that message all the time when using "apt". So far i haven't noticed any problems but Maybe time to look into the message some.

Yes, I see that message from time to time.
Basically, just ignored it since I always thought
apt-get was out of the sandbox, anyway.
Seemed like a Java message?

I can at least reproduce the warning message using this code when dowloading ( example only )
sudo LANG=C apt-get download pix
Get:1 https://ftp.fau.de/mxlinux-packages/mx/repo stretch/main amd64 pix amd64 1.6.2-1~mx17+1 [709 kB]
Fetched 709 kB in 0s (2192 kB/s)
W: Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/home/fehlix/00/pix_1.6.2-1~mx17+1_amd64.deb' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)

With normal user no erro when downloading:
LANG=C apt-get download pix
Get:1 https://ftp.fau.de/mxlinux-packages/mx/repo stretch/main amd64 pix amd64 1.6.2-1~mx17+1 [709 kB]
Fetched 709 kB in 0s (2292 kB/s)
I do never get such warning message runing sudo apt or sudo apt-get apt for installing.

I just got the warning twice using synaptic.
As with Eadwine Rose, both times the packages were installed.
I got no warning installing with MX Package Installer.
No big deal since the stuff gets installed... just wanted to let you know.

This has stopped happening to me.
If someone did something - thanks!
