I'm having a similar issue too but I didn't get to the multi-list level that you have app4soft. Could be the extra apps you installed broke something? I know that when I uninstalled Conky on MX 17, stuff stopped working right and had to re-install and just disable that cockroach. The problem seems to me to be with the Notifier and who is and isn't talking to it and also looks like it could be caused by an MX Dev Team tweak but the same issue is in my Debian 9.4 VBox. I wish I had the ability to get under the hood but I'm still programming in Basic inside DOS and haven't gotten much further than that.

Are you unmounting the devices first before pulling the sticks out?

do the duplicates show in in your /etc/fstab?

is it any device, or just the one in your screenshot?

what sort of device is that?

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

This happens when the device is in MPT mode.

Maybe an upgrade to 4.15 kernel using MX Package Installer would help(?).

The debian bug report indicates it's fixed in the gvfs package currently in experimental.

Thanks for the prompt.
The fix has now made it into Buster. I'll see if I can backport it tomorrow.

I wasn't able to backport the Buster version of gvfs, but I was able to apply that patch to the Stretch version.
It's available in the Testing MX-17 repository. MXPI upgrades it just fine.
