Applications don't resize.

#1 Post by Mauser »

Being that I have the DPI set to 150 because of my eyes some menus from some applications can't be resized. I have to use Alt/right and left click in order to move the window but it won't resize. Resizing doesn't work from the boarder. I found this issue with advert-block and with Thunderbird when I open the Preferences window so far with this bug. Add Libre Office to the list. I just opened up Libre Office to check which version I had and the window is too tall and too narrow so I tried to resize it and it wouldn't resize just like the other programs I mentioned earlier.

Try changing your window decoration to something with a bigger frame so there's a bigger area for the mouse cursor to grab.

Or use Alt-F8 to make the cursor jump to a corner for resizing.

That doesn't work because there is nothing to grab onto on the bottom, it won't resize.

That doesn't work. All that does is let me grab the window to move it.

Are you sure? The cursor jumps to the corner and becomes an icon with the arrow and sides pointing like an "L." Make sure your window is unmaximized by clicking in the upper left corner to get a menu if need be.

That's built into Xfce is why I ask.

I played around with the libreoffice launcher app last nite (which I assume is what the OP is talking about).

While I could get it to resize, it does have a minimum height that I could not shrink it down past. I didn't check the size of the window though...I'll try to do that. My screen is larger than 1366x768.

Yes, I am 100% sure. I can move the window around to get to what I need to get to but it won't resize. But my bug report is when I click on the square on the boarder on the top to make it to resize it doesn't respond on some windows. I never experienced this issue on any previous MX distros. This bug is only on MX-17.

I could resize it wider by dragging it but I can't resize it vertically and the square in the boarder doesn't respond at all.
