if those are the only apps you installed, perhaps

Code: Select all

apt-get install kodi chromium -s
before you reinstall them will provide some information.

lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

you are at least the first to report it.

boot without persistence (no need to delete the rootfs, just boot without persistence option) and try

Code: Select all

apt-get update
apt-get install kodi -s

lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23

on your persistant usb instance with the issue can you try running

Code: Select all

sudo ldconfig && xfce4-panel
if no luck then try

Code: Select all

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 xfce4-panel
and post any feedback here?

so far i can't duplicate the OP's problem. how do you set kodi to windowed mode instead of full screen?
