[solved] MX17 Mouse pointer acceleration doesn't work
I wanted to make it a bit faster but nope, no dice.
I just chucked in the old 16.1 drive, slid the slider all the way to the left and it became really slow, slid it to the right and fast.. so.. in there it is working.
However in 17 the speed is the same whatever I do. It's not terribly slow or I would have noticed from the getgo.
I did find something online but that person has a wireless mouse, I have a wired one (also Logitech):

I am a bit wary to just do this command thing so I haven't tried anything yet before asking here, always wary about just chucking commands into a terminal
I checked in 16.1 to see if the 10-evdev.conf file was also in /etc there like what happens when you make that link, but nope, looks the same as in 17.
I wonder.. what changed between 16.1 (working) and 17 (not working). The conf files look the same between 16.1 and 17.

Probably a dumb question, but are you using the pull-down menu first to select the correct device?

Only have one mouse. It is wireless.Jerry3904 wrote:Probably a dumb question, but are you using the pull-down menu first to select the correct device?
Tried that suggestion from the site Eadwine posted and it works. You do need to reboot.

Re: MX17 Mouse pointer acceleration doesn't work
Posting so we have a copy here as well:
Restart after making the link.
Going to try as well :)
edit: worked!
Code: Select all
sudo ln -s /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf
Going to try as well :)

Re: [solved] MX17 Mouse pointer acceleration doesn't work
Good. Probably should check about that being added to mx-system or wherever it goes.

Re: [solved] MX17 Mouse pointer acceleration doesn't work
I would like to see if there are any conflicts with touchpads. we already have a touchpad catchall and this 10-evdev.conf file also provides one, although the wording is a little different.
