[Solved] WiFi problem?

#1 Post by colin_b »

I've just watched the review of MX 17 b3 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV9n2S12DHU

At 8:30 a problem with WiFi connectivity is described. Apparently Manjaro has the same problem. Is this something that can be solved?

Me neither.

I thought this might have been a known issue with XFCE.

It appears he is trying to set up an ad-hoc connection, that can be shared with other computers. Never tried it or saw a need for it myself. Just have other systems connect directly through the router.

The video creator solved the problem in a later video. Off hand I don't remember the solution but he did figure it out.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

I found the video you mentioned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9757jx1Sx4

Installing dnsmasq-base solves the problem. Could this be installed by default to eliminate this problem?
