I gave up on hibernate years ago.
I thought we gave up on it, period. It doesn't work for most people and we decided to focus on suspend, which does. I just finished writing an expanded section on suspend for the Manual, mining the info in our threads over the last couple of months.

Yes. We should close it in the tracker with, no action, and write a short paragraph on why. Comments?

Wasting resources on something that may never work correctly seems silly, just make an entry in the docs that hibernate is not supported and be done with it. TBH, I don't use suspend either as it just doesn't take that long to boot up anyway and I never have issues...
Life's tough, it's tougher if you're stupid...

I'll do that this morning in Tracker, Manual is already set.

Went to do that, page has been deleted. Also closed a few outstanding MX 14 bugs to clean things up.

Issue 301 hibernate and suspend still shows in Progress. I can edit if you like.

Something for the next manual revision:

Section 2.2,3
The Installer will create a SWAP file for you (see Section 2.5.1). If you intend to hibernate (and not just suspend) the system, swap may need to be something on the order of 2GB or else the hibernation will fail when the current memory use is more than 1GB.
Delete last sentence.

section 2.4.3
The power button at the edge contains options to suspend, hibernate, restart and shut down.
Delete hibernate.

Good timing: finishing the next version ATM!

Will actually keep the first, since some people may want to try to use it, but will add some serious caution.
