Here are the 32 & 64 bit jessie/MX15 debs if anybody wants to try them. Let us know if this version works any better. - mike

I can't speak to anything else at the moment but the automount thing is not occurring for me with .24.

btw: fixed in version .22 and actually using udisk2-inhibit.

Bang it around some more and just say so and I'll send it up.

Works like a charm with 64 bit. Thank you as this was a relatively small thing but hugely irritating...

if you can, lets make sure the new package actually does what its meant to and makes some partitions...

I did as I had a couple of USB sticks to work with. I deleted everything, wrote new partition tables, created & removed partitions, and formatted with ext4, ntfs, and fat32 - all went well and zero remounts...

If I read this problem correctly....if auto-mount is not selected it does not occur? Is that correct?
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

This thread has been marked solved. Is that a result of the backported 0.24-gparted or just setting the tool up to work with automount off?

I think the OP marked as solved because of the backported .24-gparted.
