The new version puts AMD firmware in firmware-amd-graphics, and that does contain TAHITI_vce.bin. Linux-firmware-nonfree becomes a dummy package that depends on firmware-amd-graphics.

There are now quite a few packages plus three metapackages. Firmware-linux depends on firmware-linux-free and firmware-linux-nonfree, and will pull in all of them.

6 sec Power on to Grub
5 sec Grub delay
4 sec to ''Waiting for /dev'
1 sec to blank screen
12 sec to screen resume (of which 9 sec monitor on standby)
3 sec to login
7 sec password (I'm slow)
2 sec to desktop

39 sec total boot time - 28 sec from grub. Take out the 9 sec for 'VCE not responding' and my 7 sec typing and I have a 12 second boot from grub to desktop.
So it wasn't just me...

No - I mentioned this in feedback on 2 versions but nobody else confirmed it. I assumed it was a peculiarity of my hardware.

AsRock FM2A88X-ITX+, A8-6500, 8GB, 120GB Samsung SSD (GPT), 1TB HDD (MBR), MX-18.3
Lenovo Thinkpad X220, dual-core i5, 3MB, 320GB Hitachi HDD, Win7, MX-18.3
