Yup, same here.

Did acroread update between the previous (b1) and current (b2) try?

ok, solution is at the bottom of this page (good reading).

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/392447?start=0&tstart=0

I had to enable "all websites" and now links work from the mx manual.

***edit*** you can also change the default behavior at the bottom of the the Trust Manager settings to "allow access"

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Tried on b1, went ok. Did have to select the correct browser in the settings as well of course. First it started opening them not 100% correctly, using openurl%28 at the beginning and /,new-tab) at the end of each link, resulting in an error page, but closing and reopening the application helped sort that out and stopped adding these bits.

On b2 this behavior persists. Not a clue what on earth is causing that now.

PDF was invented by NIX and can be found any place in Linuxland. Please do not get yourself stuck with Adobe Acroread only.

I am not saying I am getting myself stuck on that. This is just something that a user may run into that we are trying to sort out.

Side note, maybe you haven't realized this and it's all in good jest, but please be aware that some may find the popcorn insulting.

I do believe b2 may have shipped without a default browser being set at all, so you might check that. I don't know if it will make a difference, my default is set to firefox and I've enabled "allow all websites" in the acroread trust manager settings before i got links in the manual to work.

Indeed.. b1 had firefox as default, b2 was empty IIRC. But for whatever reason even when I set everything correct, browser, allow all and all that.. no dice on b2. It's weird.

But it did require a little tinkering on b1 with turning that V off and on and closing acroread and such.. I'll slide it on the "crooked volt" pile ;)

At least the default pdf reader is not acroread but the other one (qpfview), just need to allow links in that software and that's it.
