MX15b1-64 acroread not opening link to website

#1

Post by Eadwine Rose » Sun Nov 29, 2015 12:42 pm

I got a pdf from work with a few links in there, opened in acroread, and when clicking said links I get an error about a plugin not being there.
adobe.png
Found out by googling that I need the "weblink" plugin installed, but I can't seem to find it.

QPDFview works by the way, as long as I tick the open URL box in the settings - behavior tab.

Any ideas on getting this to work in acroread?

Sorry, beforehand for an answer that would be off-topic. I haven't used Acroread (on Linux), so I cannot help with it immediately.
I can recomend to test evince, I like it very much, because it remembers which page I was when I closed it. It is a bit heavy though.
MX-14 on a Via Eden 1GHz CPU thin client, 3GB RAM, Via VX800 chipset, Via Chrome9 HC GPU, 32GB M.2 SSD;
btrfs with @ and @home subvolumes for MX-14;
added @antiX and @antiXhome subvolumes and copied antix 13.1 base into them, adjusting Grub from MX-14.

try enabling deb-multimedia (that's where acroread comes from) and install the acroread-plugins package. and then please let us know here if that fixes your issue.

***just installed it here, and the weblink plugin does come with that package. Will update the mx-packagemanager list files.

For some reason in b2 it still won't work to click a link even with that package installed :confused:

I will take a looksee tomorrow, maybe then it will work (rebooted and such).

Does that package autoinstall with acroread now? I saw it was already installed when I went to manually install it. :smile:

I used that earlier today, so.. that explains that bit. I will get back to trying the link thing tomorrow in that install. Currently stuck on the upgrades (see beta2 feedback).

Nope, even after reboot it won't make clickable links :confused: I don't get what is up with it, but something's not right.

I don't know, I just got the weblinks plugin to install. Maybe things don't work right with adobe 9 anymore. the mx-manual links don't work in it either (the external ones anyway). work fine in qpdfview.
