Was: Easy way to help with MX-14.1 bug even without MX-14.1

Edit: This wasn't the problem. Thank you all for your help.

I am trying to find all the major device numbers for cdrom devices. You can find them with the command "ls -l /dev/sr*". On my system I get:

Code: Select all

$ ls -l /dev/sr*
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Jun 15 10:17 /dev/sr0
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 1 Jun 15 10:17 /dev/sr1
which shows the major device number is 11 for both of my optical drives.

If you have a /dev/sr* device that has a major device number different from "11", please post it here. Thanks.

I think linux documentation has an exhaustive list of major numbers for CD-ROM devices: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kerne ... evices.txt

Okay, thanks. That means the problem is elsewhere.
