You might try the Cheatcode: rootdelay=30
upon trying to boot the DVD.
Sometimes the system is faster than the USB attached drive. See: http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php?title=Cheatcodes
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

@GGuiGuy, @fu-sen, the rootdelay boot code has no effect on our the LiveCD/USB. However, I suggest you try using try=10 or even try=15. This parameter controls how long we look for the boot device before we giving up. Previously the default was 15 seconds but we reduced it to 5 seconds this time around which may have been too aggressive. It was hard to know before hand what the best value was so we made it a little bit on the small side to help is find out the optimal setting.

If that doesn't work then what is the error message you get when it does not boot? Does it say it cannot find the linuxfs file? If so, please post the output of the following command from the machine where it does not boot:

Code: Select all

lspci -k

Thanks, BJ.
No luck with try=10 or try=15: even try =30 still gives the "cannot find" message.
The CD boots on two other machines just fine, and this installed MX-14 system can see and browse it with Thunar.
