Screenshooter can't be added to Xfce Panel

#1

Post by The Boy Wonder » Mon May 19, 2014 8:56 am

Hi,

This is no big deal, but I'd like to add Screenshooter to my panel and it consistently offers this error message:

Plugin "Screenshot" unexpectedly left the panel. Do you want to restart it?

Clicking on "Execute" does nothing. Is that a bug or am I just overlooking something?

Thank

I can confirm that. But it works if you RC panel > Panel >Add New Items, then click on the Launcher entry at the top of the list. RC the new launcher icon, click the "+" and click on Screenshooter.

BTW: remember that the key PrtScr will bring up Screenshooter as well.
Production: 4.15.0-1-amd64, MX-17.1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Testing: AAO 722: 4.15.0-1-386. MX-17.1, AMD C-60 APU, 4 GB
Personal: XPS 13, 4.18.0-19.3-liquorix, 4 GB

Ha! I'll just use the PrtScr button then, how cool! But marking this one SOLVED - so the trick is to treat Screenshooter like an application rather than as a "panel applet," creating a launcher and designating Screenshooter. Thanks!

Guess so--but the bug is still there since it shouldn't be on that plugin list if it doesn't work. But nice that there are two easy and good workarounds.
