Request for translations thread

#1

Post by Old Giza » Sun Feb 17, 2019 11:06 pm

Hello translators,

Rather than use a separate thread for each request, I will post new requests in this one thread. Hopefully that will reduce the clutter a little. Of course, when special issues come up, feel free to start a new thread. If this approach doesn't prove practical, I will drop it.

Request #1: mx-tweak

There are 4 new strings for mx-tweak relating to screen tearing.

Thank you.

Request #2: apt-notifier-policies

The way apt-notifier uses permissions is being updated, resulting in a new resource on Transifex. There are 7 strings, but you will probably find only 4 need translating.

Thank you!

Request #3: mx-user

9 strings to translate. Please make of your Suggestions, especially for the "Sorry" strings, as they have been only lightly edited.

Thank you!

Request #4: gazelle-installer

3 very short strings that won't take too long!

Thank you

Edit: One more string to translate. You should be able to use your "Suggestions". Note the inclusion of "(MBR)" and change in wording to refer to Partition Boot Record and partition, instead of root and root partition.

Hello translators,

Thanks for all your work keeping the translations up to date!

There are a few more updates that have been made recently. You may already have seen some of them on Transifex. Here's a list of the resources that have been affected:
  • gazelle-installer 32 new strings, most short but one very long. In that long string, there are several explanations of acronyms, like this: "CBC (Cipher block chaining)". You may choose to leave these as they are.
  • gazelle-services-descriptions one new description for Plymouth boot splash
  • mx-live-usb-maker one new string
  • mx-snapshot 3 new strings

mx-network-assistant is unlocked now. There are no new strings to translate in it.

My thanks to Adrian!

Some new adjustments were just made to the gazelle-installer strings. In particular, the expanded explanation of encryption options was affected. If you have already translated this long string, then you will need to recall your previous translation using "Suggestions" and tweak it a bit.
