One translation required for mx-packageinstaller

#1 Post by Old Giza »

Hello translators,

There have been recent GUI and performance enhancements to the mx-packageinstaller app. But for translation purposes, there is only one simple change to make: "Debian Backports Repo" is replaced by "Debian Backports" Please visit the mx-packageinstaller resource on Transifex to complete the one untranslated string. You should have an easily modifiable Suggestion available.

Thanks!

I have a doubt with the translation of an entry in mx-packageinstaller-descriptions.

line 134: Debian default 4.9 32bit linux kernel w/PAE

What does "w/PAE" mean? maybe "PAE and without (PAE)" ?

w/ is another way of writing with.

I hate seeing it written that way, to be honest ;)

It is really a bad way, especially considering that there are other lines in which the fact that a kernel is pae is presented without "w/" , for example:
line 133 :antiX 4.9.91 kernel, 32 bit pae
line 138 :Debian Backports Kernel (32 bit PAE)

But ok, the important is that at least the British/Americans understand what they say between them ;)

Well, the idea is to save char space. Started with 80 char lines in text console and won't go away. :)
It is very common in software: c/PAE, w/PAE, w/Battery, w/o battery, etcétera...
