Limit of characters for describing an app in Whisker menu

#1 Post by cyrilus31 »

Basically, I never tweaked MX. It is suitable for my needs and I work like this for many years.
I had a discussion with oops in the french forum about Name and Comment of apps and it seems that description has a limit of 32 characters.
Is it possible to modify this limit? I never wonder but do you think we need to stick to this limit so that our translations appear completely when you open Whisker menu?
That's just a detail but I wanted the opinion of all translators.

When you're in one pane view that's correct. But when you have two panes there's a limit of 32 characters (or so I think).
Oops provided an alternative translation because it was shorter than mine but still it would appear truncated in two panes view.
No biggie but we just had that discussion.

I don't remember if it's enabled by default, but Whiskermenu can also display a tooltip of the app's description, like the one for LibreOffice shown below, I didn't count them but it's a lot more than 32 characters.

Attached a two-pane wisker-menu with a 70 char comment field.
Do I miss something?

You might have missed the upper right corner of the Whisker-menu,
which you can grab and resize the menu. :footinmouth:

OK, I'm gonna sleep even if we're in the middle of the afternoon and wake up in about a year or two :bawling:
Close this thread, I'm so ashamed.

Cyrilus ... Anyways, less characters is better for small screen.
