MX-15 Manual translations

#1 Post by Jerry3904 »

OK. This will be the index to the Google Translate versions of the MX-15 Manual. We are uploading Sections 1 and 3 to DropBox for people to work on when they have time and if they are interested.

Our goal is get a set of these partial translations (1 and 3 first, then 2) in place by the end of February. Since Google Translate does a good deal of the base work, we are hoping that this task will prove reasonable.

<stay tuned>

Stay tuned, certainly. Just started on this part of the MX Manual Project. Expect (hope) to upload the first files later today (NZ time)
and will post advice on the Forum when uploaded. Files will be in Libre Office format ready for correction to wording or syntax, that those
fluent in the respective languages can provide.

Edit: 5 November 2016.

The User Manual Translations, previously in this post have all been deleted because the change of the MX-Linux web address made the hyperlinks useless.

Thanks, Gordon! Before you continue, let's see about getting those links--I hadn't noticed that.

Sorry, I meant the links in the text. I want to see if we can get them with a different methodology.

It was middle of the night when i posted, couldn't sleep...

Gordon: let's try Paste special > html into LO and see how that looks. The links should be preserved and I'm hoping we can still edit it easily. If that works, please replace (sorry!) the ones you have uploaded with the new version.

Exception: instead of replacing the Russian, add a new file "Russian_links" because bicyclista has already started working on that.

I had published a Japanese translation of the MX-14 here:

https://sites.google.com/site/mepisantixjp/MX/doc

I will update this sentence for sequential MX-15.
If there is a need to reflect this sentence to the MX Web site,
I would make even the support.

I'm sorry, but I can't tell what part(s) of the MX-14 Manual have been translated. For the MX-15 Manual, we will want to put up a web page on the MX site that provides a list for users of all translations, whether partial or complete.

If you have the time to translate Sections 1 and 3 of the new Manual into Japanese and can provide me with a link, that would be terrific! Once that is done, then do the other Sections (starting with Section 2).

Thanks!

Jerry,
Once the GT translated texts had been corrected, my intention was to convert from LO into pdf's for general release. The linking
information has not been lost when producing LO from html, needs Ctrl Click in LO.
