Idea: have similar themes in Mx and Antix

#1

Hi,
I use antiX and MX on different devices and, despite not usually having the need to change any configuration of my OS in any big way, having different windows decorations and icons on both distros always messes a little bit with the part of my brain that deslikes change.
So I finally ended up installing the same icons and then the Arc theme MX uses on antiX and it runs great.
Is there any particular reason why both distros don't have a more unificated look? Does using themes any memory footprint increase, for example? Or does the development team really want both distros to look different, as a statement?
As always, I love both distros, keep up the good work
P.

Size restrictions come into play. As far as AntiX goes.

Maybe Full Iso?

antiX is focused on window managers. MX uses xfce.

The WM would have their own theming, which is different from xfce and gtk themes.

But ultimately it's because there are different Dev teams for both distros even though there is a slight overlap of personnel. Different vision for the 2 distros, diff target user groups.

But if one distro liked something from the other, they are free to ask for it to adapt. In the looks department, antiX liked the train station wallpaper first found in mx15's collection, so it found its way to antiX, while mx17's conky collection includes the antiX default conky.

But each distro has its own identity.
Desktop: Intel i5-4460, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics
Clevo N130WU-based Ultrabook: Intel i7-8550U (Kaby Lake R), 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics (UEFI)
ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400
