@Jerry3904,
Yes, I know, it kind of grows in the mind.
I really like the mxlinuxwine_by_ant_ony_1080p.png but this has taken over.

@dolphin_oracle, etal,
Your comment about the ugly child came to mind
when reviewing my Imgur images.

In SalineOS (2010-2012), whose motto was,
“Because speed and stability matter.”
there was a very small forum and a single developer.
It was based on Debian Squeeze, Xfce4, backports
and some personal utilities from the developer.
Image
But in late 2012, SOS ceased when Mr. Nordquist
could no longer spend the time to maintain it alone.

He recommended Manjaro with Xfce4 and for
the coming systemd which he felt would simplify
building and maintaining a distro for a small operation.
Image

Manjaro was shiny new, less hassle than Arch,
but still required attention even when work called.
Spelunking Distrowatch for Xfce4 distros,
I found MX-14 near release. It attracted me for it's similar
focus to the now defunct SalineOS,
though not so much for it's esthetic qualities :)
Image

MX-15 continued to improve and was more appealing.
It had a new face and lots of improvements under the hood.
Image

MX-16 had a new, shiny face and brought even
more improvements to the software.
Image

MX-16.1 and then another...
Image

MX-17.0
Just when you thought it couldn't get much better,
more goodness in software and esthetics.
Because speed, stability and image do matter.
Image

MX-17.1
and one of the latest of a great choice of images...
Image

My heartfelt thanks to all the developers, packagers,
administrators, testers, translators, forum members,
visitors and reviewers who have been instrumental
in bringing MX Linux to it's current position in the world
of FLOSS (Free Libre Open Source Software).

@ i_ri,
Thank you.

I just activated Hide Intelligently on Panel 1 (bottom panel).
Clicked on the Dropbox icon, the first one I noticed
and the bottom panel 1 goes crazy.

Clicking on any other icon doesn't cause it.
Thanks for the post, I guess I hadn't really paid attention
to what was causing it, the Dropbox icon conflicts.

Thanks, Richard for the walk-through of MX's development.

Minor correction: the "kingfisher" edition was MX16.1. MX17 is the one with antechdesigns' beautiful landscape pic.

===========================

Flickering intelli-hide bottom panel - I seem to get it only with a bottom panel within an MX Virtual Machine (regular occurrence) or just once in a while in a real metal install if I'm running compiz.

Even for the VM bottom panel, I do wonder if it's some buggy interaction with compiz running on the host machine, because it's only recently that I installed compiz in ALL of my MX real life installs and the flickering is a recent development.

Previously compiz was just installed on one MX15 test install.

Thanks, asqwerth,
I remembered and changed it, but not before it was spotted.
Although I had forgotten 16.1.
antechdesigns' images are great.

"Kingfisher" was unofficially called the "MX16 Summer Edition" by the Dev Team. :p

That was why the call for wallpaper submissions for 16.1 asked for cheery and colourful images.
