i felt its better when boot with black wallpaper than kingfisher in grey.
Check out the Users Manual, Sections 3.8.7 and 3.8.8
read n thanks, my reasons as to why i request black wallpaper are;
1) black is universal, no copyright infringement.
2) minimal, save energy, good contrast background, doesn't burnt screen pixel......etc, etc.
3) the more i look at kingfisher or other images, the more i dislike it. black doesn't have that effect, maybe it just me alone.

anyway thanks for all the help but i still hope dev set black wallpaper as default.

i still hope dev set black wallpaper as default.
I suspect that is extremely unlikely.

minimal, save energy, good contrast background, doesn't burnt screen pixel.
For an LCD display, is this even true? Seems backward.
When a given pixel is "at rest", is not energized, the backlight passes unimpeded through the screen, yes?
In order to fully blacken the LCD display, all subpixels must be energized, yes?

well, google "does black screen save energy?" u got some say yes, some say no, same say yes/no.
u should google "how does lcd screen works" n learn, amoled screen save more energy than lcd.

someone brought same issue about changing grub background kingfisher image.
i understand now why it didn't change when i did edit /etc/default/grub and change background image to black with all black images in place.
update-grub error was the issue, hope it will be solve soon.

It's never going to happen in MX, but you're welcome to do a respin. I don't think there's any "Goth Linux" yet, so you could fill a niche! I think "Emo Linux" is also unclaimed. ;)

I'm sure you can appreciate that this desire for everything to be all black will not be the majority view of MX users. It will not make sense for it to be the default setting.

As for copyright worries about wallpaper, the Dev Team is careful about these things. Generally the WPs are either under liberal Creative Commons terms, or were taken by the Dev Team members or their friends/family and all consents obtained.
