Here's my first go, using an actual photo of a thunderstorm seen at night from 40,000 ft

Simple horizontal (should set Panel to transparent like Rich did I think now) compact layout, Hellfire Bluff and Maria Island more distant to the far right, Zephyr wreck in the foreground, usually covered in sand, October 2016

* realises how the earlier posts managed to include large images now I think.....https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3UyI ... 0REUmlncHM here provides some of the settings I used, in an animated gif format (656KB) after setting up an initial Live USB/all persist (the attached version below is much inferior)

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3UyI ... nF3Vzh5d0E (2.4MB) also links to the original image (you are welcome to a copy)

Hi all,

This is my desktop at the mo. MX-16 Beta 1 32-bit, running on a 9-yr old Toshiba laptop (Core 2 Duo, 2Gb RAM), using the light theme, and with a Conky that I (coughs*ahem!) borrowed from my other distro, Linux Lite 3.2, and modified, because I just love that Conky.
Mx-16 runs beautifully on this laptop, and everything I've tried so far just works.
Well done to all those involved.

Just one question - when the final is released, will I have to reinstall, or can I just upgrade from the Beta?

Phil

lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-17
lenovo s21e & 100s - antiX-17, MX17(live-usb)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
