Thanks! Also let's keep this focused: do you see any problem installing, any regressions compared to 18.2?

Booting on hyper-v vms is one of the items we were hoping to get working. However that environment is dificult to test in because it requires a win10 pro or enterprise system, of which many of use don't have access to.

So if anyone does, please try booting the rc1 iso.on a hyper-v vm. We think it will boot but you might not get X. We would like to see if adding xorg=fbdev to the live boot codes will get the user to X.

Fehlix has been working on this but due to reasons above its tricky to test.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

You can also use Windows Hyper-V Server which is free from MS. Alas, they have withheld the 2019 download due to some kind of issue with Remote Desktop access, and I'm not sure when they'll rectify it.

Requirements to run Hyper-V:
  • Windows 10 Enterprise, Pro, or Education
  • 64-bit Processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT).
  • CPU support for VM Monitor Mode Extension (VT-c on Intel CPUs).
  • Minimum of 4 GB memory.
per this document, which explains how to enable Hyper-V on Win10:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtua ... le-hyper-v

Note that Hyper-V is built into the above-listed Windows versions as an optional feature, there is no separate Hyper-V download. A 90-day evaluation copy of Windows 10 Enterprise can be downloaded from
