Does anyone running MX Linux use Intellij?
If so, did you install it from FlatPaks?

Re: Intellij
You can certainly get help if you ask for it (you didn't). But there don't seem to be a lot of Forum regulars who are Java developers. I certainly am not.
The open source download from their website appears to run just fine on MX, although I haven't done anything with it other than start it up.
The Flatpak is available in our MX Package Installer but I haven't tried it.

I had another post asking for help with the Flatpak install but only got a few responses and no solution.
I'm trying to get a response from someone who does use Intellij because I'm having issues installing openjdk with the Flatpak version. It can't seem to see openjdk. The open source download works fine but how do updates work with open source? Will it get updated automatically or do I have to update manually?
Thanks
Re: Intellij
Flatpaks by design run in a sandboxed environment and with few exceptions may not access shared system libraries, so I'm not surprised you couldn't get an IntelliJ flatpak to see openjdk. That's just the way flatpaks work.
No, you won't get automatic updates from the website download. You could try using the company's free app to manage updates.
