I can't say anything meaningful about systemd vs other init systems but I do agree with that one.
systemd in debian

Self-adulation? At most I've seen people happy with the evolution of MX on Distrowatch, which is more or less meaningless in my opinion, but still it's not bad to see your distro at top, but I think this is a bit malicious formulation if nothing else, who is self-adulating, devs, mx users?
Re: systemd in debian
Having been on too many forums (probably), I can say that the systemD religious wars are reasonably common and sometimes even end in departures.
As for Distrowatch (@antiX) it seems common when a distro's ranking moves higher "rays of sun and heavenly light" shine; when they go the other way... well then, not so much.

Maybe I would have used a different wording but I do agree with the general sentiment expressed.Adrian wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 12:27 pmSelf-adulation? The frequency and length of those "We are $VERY_SMALL_NUMBER on DW" threads is a bit embarrassing. Sorry, can't help it, it just happens to be my opinion.

Re: systemd in debian
You are embarrassed by different things that embarrass me. People being happy about MX progress (even in a non that important ranking) doesn't embarrass me. Not important because DW is a just small segment of the market, MX can be second or first there but there are so many people that didn't even hear about MX, if anything if somebody ask "what distro should I try" most of the responses are Ubuntu, Mint, Manjaro, Fedora, etc I almost never see anybody mentioning MX.
Re: systemd in debian
If you start putting words into my mouth then we better stop this.
You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine.
