Guys, whats the difference between the browser's built in flash plug-in and the one on our desktop?

well, TMK, only google-chrome has built-in flash. everyone else, including mozilla firefox, uses the plugin.

also, from the article:
Bye-bye, Flash!
The next step for Mozilla is then to remove support for Flash Player entirely, so starting with early 2020, consumer versions of Firefox would no longer work with Adobe’s plugin. The Extended Support Release (ESR) version of Firefox will be next later the same year before Adobe itself pulls the plug on the software.
I for one look forward to the final demise of flash. What this really means is that sites that are using flash better get on the ball about using something else.

Exactly. We only supply it by default because a number of sites people use still require it (for me, the "loop" maps in weather.gov).

I'll be glad when flash finally bites the dust for good. It's been a real source of trouble with security and just plain a pain for a long time.

RIP. I hope they fix what they broke long before that version.

As the article mentioned Adobe itself is killing Flash, so it's time to say our good byes.

I wonder how many security camera will be disabled. Mine will be unless the vendor uses a different solution.

I have a Windows application for creating web-sites that I paid for; I only use it to show family photos. It uses Flash to create the slide show. :frown:
