Hong Kong koddos mirror seems to be down....

#1 Post by asqwerth »

... I've had problems with it on maybe 3 different installs of MX the past 2 days. The text mentioned a release file being missing or something. Probably it hasn't synced with the main repos.

The other HK mirror is ok.

@asqwerth: is koddos stable now for you or should I ask the maintainer?
By the way, whenever I get some weird quirks with a mirror I check here on Arch (you will see some occurrences on those days you posted indeed with koddos:

Also interesting stats here: https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/koddos.net/1181/

@Gordon Cooper: try Launceston/ AU. Don't choose Melbourne as I have still an open ticket with the ISP to setup cron job updates

That mirror is highly unreliable, I'm sorry to say. But that's what MX Repo manager is for, eh?! If any mirror seems to hang, I do a quick Ctrl-C, and switch.

Thanks for suggestion. Melbourne & Launceston are fairly new, NZ was the only mirror down here for a long time. NZ is OK this morning but will
change if problems return. May I ask why Launceston ? It is close to Melbourne, one in Perth would give better geographical coverage of Aus.

We don't choose the site we would like, we choose from available and willing servers. That's what came up..

@Jerry3904/ @Gordon Cooper: by the way, AusNet which is now listed as Melbourne has two datacentres, in Melbourne and Sydney. When I asked them in which one is this mirror physically located, they replied "We have setup mirrors in both Sydney and Melbourne". So I guess it is both, however it is technically performed
