Problems with Wine/pychess/Scid.

#1 Post by keos »

Problems with Pychess and Wine.

This time i have installed Pychess and wine but i”m not able to run any of the chess engines that require wine for linux in pychess. Only Stockfish 9 and Komodo which do not require of wine are working fine.

This is what i”m doing:

After the extration of this programs: Houdine, Fire, etc, i”m going to open Pychess and: >edit>motors>new, then i navegate till i found the chess engine, once i found the motor, click/open, and the chess motor is «added» to pychess but ... it doesn”t work. :mad:

Note/

In Pychess i can”t follow this instructions of timkb4cq that work fine for Arena:

viewtopic.php?f=104&t=41936&start=10#p410648

There is no how to paste anything at pychess. :eek:

*I changed the subject because ...

The real problem is with Wine since i installed scid and chess engines are not working with scid --those that need wine of course.

Hi,

Since there is nothing that i can do with wine/pychess i turned back to scid-vs-pc in order to add the engines that need wine because they are for windows users ...
but i'm having problems with ...
keos@keos:~
$ wine SETUP.EXE
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\SETUP.EXE"
keos@keos:~
$ wine scid-vs-pc.exe
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\scid-vs-pc.exe"

Just in case some developer nedd to know: i'm not sure if the problem it is Wine or pychess/wine or scid vs pc/wine :confused: because in Arena/wine everything works fine, all engines are running, even those that are ussing 64bit!.

I loved pychess because it is very intuitive, scid and Arena are a bit of complicate :alien:

There is not way but to go into Arena complicated configurations ... :bawling: . Any way it works very good. :number1:

Why not install the version from the MX repo?
version 0.12.2-1. Is there a newer version?

Perhaps ask the Repo Managers Team?

The last version is pychess-0.12.4. There is nothing by pychess at MX installer/repo.
