How to upgrade Gimp to version 2.10

What is the best way to upgrade to Gimp 2.10 ?

running MX 17.1

test repo.

use mx-packageinstaller, select the test repo tab, and install from there. MXPI will handle all the repo enabling and disabling for you.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Thanks but it says it can't install it and I can't copy the Now I can't copy error message. Can't install any version of gimp now.

Not sure how you did that, but installing from there has worked fine for all users here AFAIK. You realize D_O meant the MX Test Repo, right?

Try purging (completely remove) Gimp in Synaptic, then go back to MX Package Installer to install from the Test Repo

did that, now I can't even install any version of gimp! I may have to reinstall MX 17.1 to fix this problem.

ok 2 things.

1. looks like we might be hitting a time out with the mxrepo for some reason. I suggest changing to one of the non-us repos and trying again.
