Adobe has kicked out an out-of-band update for a security vulnerability in Flash – after learning the bug was being actively exploited in the wild by hackers to hijack PCs.

The Photoshop giant said today its Flash Player 30.0.0.113 update should be a top installation priority for Mac, Windows, and Linux systems.

One of the vulnerabilities addressed in the patch, CVE-2018-5002, is a remote code execution flaw stemming from a buffer overflow bug. Computer security experts believe the flaw is being exploited right now by miscreants to commandeer victims' PCs.

Indeed, hard to focus on the content :footinmouth:
Back on topic:
You should have added a potential more secure soluton to the subject lines topic just like this:

Code: Select all

# sudo apt purge adobe-flash*
:happybday:
--fehlix

We really need to be done with Flash. Unbelievable how many sites still require it :(

It will come to an end...
Adobe announced [...] that it plans to retire Adobe Flash in December 2020 when it will stop updating and distributing Flash.
We should probably not distribute Flash in the next release of MX.

Yes but we need to keep a standalone player, for the games :)

I think it wasn't until beta2 during mx17 dev cycle that anyone even noticed it wasn't on the iso! The point being its getting easier and easier to do without flash.

if we remove it from the default iso, we'll leave it repo (and MX-PI).
