Security researcher Michał Bentkowski discovered and reported a high severity vulnerability in Google Chrome in late May, affecting the web browsing software for all major operating systems including Windows, Mac, and Linux.

thanks for the heads_up colin_b.
For those reading this...
if you've installed google-chrome from either the deb on google's website, or from mx-packageinstaller, you will get any updates automatically thru the google repo.

Version 67.0.3396.79 here, I updated about 6-8 hours ago.
Open Synaptic and reload to search for updates. It should pop up.

Weird, I'm still seeing Chromium vers 66 in synaptic on MX. Do you folks have other repos enabled besides the defaults?Eadwine Rose wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:56 pm Version 67.0.3396.79 here, I updated about 6-8 hours ago.

Re: Update Google Chrome Immediately to Patch a High Severity Vulnerability
No Chromium update here either KBD, not sure if this effects Chromium as well or not? Debian Security Team/Debian Chromium Maintainers would handle a Chromium update if necessary I think, nothing yet. I'll check their mailing list, see if any information there...
Re: Update Google Chrome Immediately to Patch a High Severity Vulnerability
Good point. It may not affect Chromium. I know Chromium is stripped of some of the google spyware, and it may be the issue is tied to that extra junk google adds to Chrome.rich wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 12:11 pmNo Chromium update here either KBD, not sure if this effects Chromium as well or not? I can't find anything online about this security issue in relation to Chromium.
