as I understand it there will be not an upgrade available for 17 to 17.1
I think we need to make it more clear that if you have 17 up-to-date it's 17.1 for all intents and purposes, you just need to install the new kernel with MX Package Installer (or Synaptic, but it's easier to find in Package Installer).
You definitely don't need too reinstall if you have MX-17.
Understood thanks. But I consider that this is something that has not been spelled out to the Forum. Looking back over the past few months there have been several queries about upgrading the MX-16 to 17 and I think that any newer change from 17 to 17.1 needs to be clearly defined. We were all told about the availability of MX-17.1 RC and invited to test, but were not advised about how to manage a final upgrade. Have no problems myself, but looking back at posts from new members, we need to clearly make things clear to everybody. With new users joining every day, the "how to's" need to be stated.
That all usually goes in the Announcement, which is repeated on the Forum and sent to all social media sites we are on. As soon as the current ones are taken down people will just need to start the new one, pretty painless.

Have you reported that? What issue? Also if you have the issue with the programs now that's the version will be included in 17.1 so you'll continue to have that issue.

Yes, I have reported it. If you click on the little box in the boarder on the top of some programs it won't resize to fit the window. On some even dragging the edge doesn't work. advert-block is one of those programs that resizing doesn't work.
