Made the cut!

#1 Post by NGIB »

After many years of searching, I've found that MX-17 can be the sole OS on my wife's computer - she is now Windows free. She basically does not like technology and hates change but I was able to tweak an MX-17 install to fit her needs and installed it. I can't overstate the value of MX-Snapshot - it allows me clone a tweaked system and install it on other computers - and between myself, the wife, and kids I take care of a lot of systems. Snapshot really sets MX Linux apart as far as I'm concerned. I don't use much of the standard installed software but it's simple to remove what I don't use and install what I do use. Same goes for the appearance, mine looks nothing like the default and who cares as appearance is a personal taste. What matters is the system just works as it should.

Also a huge shout out to the packagers as they work hard to keep fresh versions of software in the repos as this can be a big negative on Debian stable based systems - not MX though.

Anyway, as my grandson likes to say "Two thumbs up!"
